Board and Train
Manners Camp 2 Week Board & Train
The goal of Hoosier Dog Trainer is to make it easier to live with the dog you love.
A well-trained dog is a happy dog. A good dog makes for a happier family too! When your four-legged family member understands the rules of your home and knows exactly what you expect, they will behave with much better manners. When they behave politely it reduces the amount of chaos and stress in your life!
Do you wish that your dog would…
Or
Do you wish that your dog would stop…
Just two weeks with Hoosier Dog Trainer can make this happen and bring more harmony to your home! Simply tell us what the trouble is between your dog and family. Our training programs are customized to your dog and your specific needs. In our two week “board and train” program, your dog will also learn to enjoy reliable off-leash freedom. They will come when you call them, inside or outside! Your dog will respond to your commands like never before.
Imagine dropping off your dog as you leave for vacation, or a business trip, or simply enjoy a few less stressful days at home. In two weeks you pick up the dog you love with a completely new set of manners! It can happen with the Hoosier Dog Trainer two-week Manners Camp. They will stay in a comfortable and clean facility that includes a fully-staffed Veterinary Hospital and will be surrounded by people that love dogs!
Because of our one to one training approach, a very limited number of training slots are available each week. Call 317-698-3461 to check availability.
Your dog can behave the way you want. Hoosier Dog Trainer can make it happen for you!
Shorter, on leash programs are available in some cases for less unruly dogs.
In cases involving aggressive dogs, the fee and results may vary depending upon the circumstances.
All Board and Train programs take place at Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital in Westfield, in their state of the art kennel facility.
Behavior Modification
Our two week program, Manners Camp focuses on behavior modification. Children learn their manners by observing other people and from their communication with adults. Dogs don’t learn manners very well from observing humans. They have to be specifically taught manners in a “language” they understand. That’s what we do.
Obedience training is the foundation for all behavior modification. Attempting behavior modification without this foundation is like trying to run a marathon without ever running a 5K. Using obedience training we can address issues such as jumping up on people and furniture, inappropriate chewing, digging, etc.
After an in-depth discussion with you about your unique situation and goals we will customize Manners Camp to create a more ideal environment for your family.
Private Puppy Preschool
Nothing is more exciting than bringing home a new puppy! But what do you do after that first sleepless night? Or when they romp outside then promptly potty when you get back in the house? The goal of Private Puppy Preschool is to immediately deal with those problems and to get you, your family, and your puppy off to the right start.
Why Private Preschool?
In a private setting you get the undivided attention of your trainer. There are no other unruly dogs, other owners dominating the class, or time spent on issues that don’t apply to your situation. The whole lesson is focused on you, your puppy, and your concerns. Because the lessons are not in a group setting, we can quickly cover much more ground. We get to the solutions that matter to you…fast!
Private Puppy Preschool is affordable, flexible and convenient. Two 60-90 minute sessions are offered for only $99 and are arranged to suit your busy schedule.
What is Covered?
Our Private Puppy Preschool curriculum is specifically designed for puppies 8-16 weeks old. This is the period when most puppies develop up to 90 percent of their attitudes toward people, other animals, and their environment.
Our program will teach you how you can influence and shape the behavior of your growing puppy, leading to many happy years! Private Puppy Preschool will help you better understand your puppy’s needs, establish effective communication, curb behavior problems, and properly socialize your new puppy to new people, places, and things.
Each lesson begins with a personalized Q & A session, focusing on your specific concerns. Confidence Building Exercises will show you various scenarios you may encounter with your new puppy. You will learn how to get your puppy through these situations while building confidence at the same time. In the Handling section, the puppies will learn to socialize and interact using good manners. Owner Educational Topics examine areas such as housetraining, biting, chewing, plus attention focusing exercises, and how to start obedience. You will also learn about spaying/neutering, flea prevention, and grooming.
Puppy/Breed Selection Counseling
Everyone wants their adoption of a new puppy or adult dog to be a long term relationship. To help ensure that everyone is happy, you want make sure that you get the right breed for your lifestyle. The dogs on TV and in the movies are adorable and well behaved, but they have had years of “day in and day out” training. Counseling is available to assist you in picking the breed that is best for you and your family.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are great for the person who has the time and discipline to train their own dog, but just needs a little help. These sessions are customized to your goals and your dog’s personality. Private lessons are available to dogs 16 weeks and older. They can be purchased by individual session or in even more economical multi-session packages. Training takes place at Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital in Westfield.
